As a part of our sustainable best practices program, Lithocraft identified the need to look at renewable energy sources which were green, clean, renewable and lowered our utility bills.

Working with the team at Gippsland Solar, we were able to confirm that, by installing solar panels, we were able to significantly reduce our release of greenhouse gases.

To operate responsibly, Lithocraft invested over $500,000 in solar energy and will continue to invest in this area to minimize our impact on the environment.

Importantly, sourcing renewable energy was safe and a low impact energy source.

During our analysis, we found that with the use of solar panels, the CO2 saved was approximately 318 tonnes per year. This is the equivalent of taking 67 cars off the road or a savings of 7,538 trees. As a result, 224kw grid-connected solar system with 760 solar panels and 7 units were installed.

The installation has reduced our power consumption by up to 30% per annum. In a further effort to minimize power consumption, all lighting in our Head Office facility has been switched to LED.
A PowerFactor unit has also been installed to minimize our draw on power. This has ensured that we only use what we need when we need it.

Minimizing our impact on the environment is a high priority for Lithocraft. To drive our commitment to sustainability, we continue to implement effective quality control processes across our operations.
